K2 Gold Samples Up to 2,737 g/t Silver and 23.2% Copper at Morningstar

K2 Gold's 613-sample Morningstar program has outlined widespread polymetallic mineralisation, with individual samples returning up to 2,737 g/t silver and 23.2% copper.

Company announcement — 26 August 2026

K2 Gold Corporation (TSXV: KTO; OTCQX: KTGDF) has reported high-grade silver, gold and copper assays from 613 rock samples collected across the Morningstar target in Inyo County, California.

Morningstar is approximately 7km from the Eastside Gold Trend at K2's Mojave Project. The 2026 program tested a 2,000m by 800m mineralised corridor containing the H Zone, B Zone, Ignacio and newly identified R-Zone targets.

Selected sampling highlights

  • Ignacio: 2,737 g/t Ag, 4.37 g/t Au and 2.42% Cu in sample C0105155.
  • Ignacio: 1,420 g/t Ag, 7.44 g/t Au and 1.34% Cu in sample C0105158.
  • H Zone: 38 g/t Ag, 5.84 g/t Au and 1.32% Cu.
  • B Zone: 74 g/t Ag, 4.93 g/t Au and 0.62% Pb.
  • R-Zone: 618 g/t Ag and 23.2% Cu.

Across the full program, 232 samples returned more than 0.10 g/t Au, 96 returned more than 10 g/t Ag and 66 returned more than 0.2% Cu. K2 said the results confirm several styles of mineralisation, including skarn and carbonate-replacement systems, polymetallic veins and intrusion-hosted gold.

A broader target than gold alone

Historical exploration at Morningstar focused mainly on gold, while silver and base-metal potential remained comparatively under-tested. Historical drilling by previous operators included 9.19 g/t Au over 18.29m at the H Zone, 4.77 g/t Au over 28.95m at the B Zone and 1.59 g/t Au over 44.20m at Ignacio, including 12.19m at 4.99 g/t Au.

K2's latest surface work adds a polymetallic dimension to that historical gold footprint. The company is integrating the new assays with historical drilling and geology to assess whether high-grade shoots may be controlled by favourable carbonate units, thrust structures, intrusive bodies and intersecting fault and vein orientations.

Next steps

President and CEO Anthony Margarit said Morningstar's scale, proximity to the historic Cerro Gordo Mine and multiple mineralisation styles make it a compelling addition to K2's regional target pipeline. The company intends to refine a series of polymetallic targets for drill testing alongside its continuing Mojave exploration program.

Technical context: grab samples are selective by nature and are not necessarily representative of the grade or extent of mineralisation. K2 has not independently verified all historical assay results cited in the announcement.
